How To Lighten Your Skin With Lemon Juice

FIRST OFF….

Does it work???

The answer is

YES…

First, I want to talk to you about WHY it works and the reasoning behind it, then we will discuss how to lighten skin with it.

I am sure that if you have done any research on how to lighten skin, that you have heard a lot about lemon juice, but you may not have learned why lemon juice can lighten skin, and much more.

(Lemon juice is actually VERY beneficial to your skin in a variety of ways!)

Anyway, on to WHY…

Lemon juice is packed with Vitamin C. So you might say I’m not sick, I want to lighten my skin, what does that have to do with lightening my skin? Vitamin C is one of the purest natural antioxidants that there is. Pure natural antioxidants when applied to your skin reduce the melanin formation within your skin, causing it to become lighter and lighter over time, with continual use.

Whatever the reason behind you learning how to lighten skin, whether it be age spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation, acne damage, melasma, or are just looking to lighten your overall tone etc. The area of your skin where these blemishes reside more than likely contain hyperactive melonocytes, causing this area of your skin to darken. In which lemon juice will slow down and eventually correct this problem for you.

If you know anything about how to lighten skin, then you know that regularly exfoliating your skin is critical to achieving a lighter skin tone.

Never mind using loofahs, facial scrubbers, and expensive creams that tend to dry your skin out. Lemon juice contains a high level of citric acid, which acts as an all natural skin exfoliate among other things.

Why You Ask?

Exfoliation is the process of removing old, dead skin cells that dull your skin, and revealing the much brighter layer of fresh skin cells that lie below. It just so happens that citric acid is one of the five alpha hydroxy acids that contain the properties necessary to dissolve the bond between the dead skin cells that sit on top of the fresh layer of skin cells in order to reveal them.

FUN FACT

DID YOU KNOW that you can actually use lemon juice to bleach your clothes, clean windows, polish metals and copper, get rid of dandruff… OK now I am getting carried away.

Lemon juice when applied to your skin also acts as an astringent. What the heck is that??

An astringent is a substance that constricts your body tissue, including your skin and pores. This means that while you are lightening your complexion and blemishes, it will also tighten your skin leaving it looking much tighter and younger.

OK, on to how to lighten skin with lemon juice now…

It’s simple, lemon juice by itself will work to lighten your skin blemishes. Simply purchase a few lemons at a time, cut them in half and squeeze the juice out of them into a bowl or container so that you can refrigerate what you don’t use. Once you have gotten all of the juice out of the lemons, using a cotton ball dab the juice on the area of your skin that you want to lighten. Let the lemon juice absorb into your skin and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with cold water and apply your favorite moisturizer. This should be done daily as mentioned, and every other day for more sensitive skin.

For exfoliation, you can add a few drops of lemon juice to your favorite exfoliation product to give it an extra boost, or you can use an all natural exfoliation recipe such as this one:

1 teaspoon of pure lemon juice
1 egg white
2 tablespoons of brown sugar (you can substitute this with dry oats)

Simply mix these ingredients together until a paste is formed and then using your fingers apply the paste to the affected area of skin and massage in a circular motion for 5 minutes. Let the paste on your skin for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. This should be done 3-4 times per week for oily skin, and slightly less for sensitive or dryer skin.

These are a few ways how to lighten skin with lemon juice.

Lemon juice does certainly work, but will take some time and must be used regularly! Good luck and take action!

Though I knew the wonderful uses of lemon but hardly knew such convincing details about its external use. But the other half part of it is, its internal use i.e. by just having juice of one lemon in a glass of water a day, you can take care of not only your body requirements but also keep you away from many deseases like headache, weakening of eye sight, nasal or throat congestion, colasterol, blood clotting, stones, sex power, skin ailments, indigetion and many more.
    Thanks

OMG!!! I feel so itchy and irritating after aply lemon on my body and face…Why?

    • Susie says:

You feel itchy and irritated after applying lemon because you have not built a tolerance to it. After you use it a while, it will not irritate you.

You can start by using less–perhaps mixing it with water. Slowly, over weeks, add more and more lemon to the mix until you can stand it straight.

Yes lemon juice will lighten skin. my mom used it when I was a kid ( I am 70 ).
It also takes the itch out of poison ivy ,nettles, etc. and will dry it up fairly quickly.
Do you have a crop of moles that makes your skin itchy. Use lemon juice now at first it will make them protest. And itch more, hang in there it will stop. do this every day for at least a week . Then only as needed. I use the lemon juice from the grocery store
the same lemon juice you use in cooking. NO special expense. Some times the moles
will just disappear . How Nice… And works on broken blood vessels.
