Nowadays, it seems as though beauty is synonymous with blemish-free and flawless skin. But we are not all so lucky to be born with that gift. We get skin moles because of either heredity ,physiology ,as nature’s joke or lack of luck. The good thing about this is that we are not entirely helpless. Now there are so many methods available to get rid of these moles, and we only have to pick which one would suit us best.
First things first, though: what are skin moles? Skin moles are dark or pigmented spots found on various parts of the body. There are a variety of reasons for the existence of moles. She could come from a family whose family members are riddled with moles. It is also possible that the moles began appearing when they started spending a lot of time in the sun. Some moles appear right when a person is born, but some are also acquired later in life. There is no specific time frame that moles choose to appear on the skin.
Moles come in varying shapes and sizes. The colors vary too. They could take on a range of colors, from brown to black, even skin tone. These growths are made up of melanocytes, which are basically harmless, so there’s no need to worry about them. There really is no need to remove them unless health precautions and aesthetics require it.
We cannot help that our self-confidence and general outlook in life be largely influenced by our looks. Many have had self-esteem problems because they have a mole that is perched at a spot on their face that is quite well, awkward. In order to boost their confidence, they feel the need to remove those skin moles.
But the fear of the moles leading to cancer is what drives most people into undergoing mole removal procedures. When do we start getting wary that our skin moles might be cancerous? For starters, keep an eye on the moles.
There are simple notes to consider when assessing melanoma. The asymmetry is considered by making sure there are no glaring differences between one half of the mole to the other half. Be on your guard the moment you notice that the borders of the mole are showing some irregularities. Normal moles are supposed to be uniformly or evenly colored so if you notice color variations, that is a cause for concern.
You can also make use of the measurement or dimensions of the mole to judge whether to be concerned or not. Go to a dermatologist once you notice the diameter of the moles crossing the 6mm mark. Moles that are exhibiting signs of changing colors, sizes, or shapes, as well as some bleeding, should put you on your guard. Have an experienced dermatologist or physician diagnose it so you can have an idea, once and for all, if it is cancerous or not.
One thing you should remember, however, is to NOT panic when you notice these changes. Panicking will not gain you anything. You need to stay calm so you could maintain objectivity, especially when evaluating the various removal methods that are open to you for your skin moles.
